What we do for you

Four focused services that cover the whole journey — from your first credit report to a clearer plan. Every client starts with a credit report and assessment at R450.

Settlement Negotiations

We approach your creditors on your behalf and negotiate a reduced, affordable settlement. You get the offer in writing, you approve it, you pay the creditor directly, and we follow-up until you receive your paid-up letter.

Settlement amounts depend on your creditor and your circumstances.

Defaults

Defaults that have been paid, or that were listed incorrectly, can be disputed. We prepare the dispute, submit it to the credit bureau and credit provider, and follow-up with them. Outcomes depend on the credit provider and the bureau and are not guaranteed.

Prescribed Debt

Under the Prescription Act, debt you have not acknowledged or paid for three years may no longer be legally recoverable. We check each account's age and activity, then formally raise prescription with the creditor.

Old debt that has prescribed should not be collected.

Credit Report Disputes & Score Guidance

We pull your credit report, flag every entry that is wrong, duplicated or outdated, and dispute it. Then we show you the practical habits that can help improve your score over time. The credit report and assessment is R450 and is required for every client.

Clear, step-by-step guidance you can actually follow.

A mediator who knows your name

Tjatji Credit Mediation was started by Latoya Malale, a credit consultant with more than two years' experience negotiating settlements with credit providers. She saw how many people struggle with credit problems because nobody explains their options clearly. We work differently: you see every letter, we walk you through every step, and nothing is submitted without your approval.

We are a mediation service, not a call centre. We communicate with your credit providers and the credit bureaus on your behalf, and we keep you informed at every stage. Outcomes depend on the credit provider and the bureau, and we cannot gurantee them.

Every engagement begins with a credit report and assessment at R450. It is required for every client, and it is what lets us explain your options clearly.

  • One mediator from start to finish — no handovers.
  • No judgement about how the debt happened. Only what we do next.
  • Consultations by WhatsApp, phone and email — wherever you are in South Africa.

How we work with you

Every file is handled the same way: read carefully, explained plainly, agreed in writing before we act.

We start with your credit report and assessment at R450, then go through every account on the report with you — what it is, how old it is, and whether it can be challenged.

Step oneCredit report and assessment

You get a written plan: which accounts we will dispute, which we will negotiate, and what each step costs. Nothing is submitted until you approve it.

Step twoPlan and fees in writing

We deal with the creditors, banks and credit bureaus directly, keep you updated as replies come in, and tell you honestly when something cannot be changed.
